Hi! I’m Arielle Green, LCSW
Licensed Psychotherapist working with individuals in New York
My style
I believe that understanding our relationship with others can help us better understand ourselves.
My approach to therapy focuses on relationships by creating a safe & supportive environment for exploration and growth, where clients can feel understood and validated. I believe in direct communication to help break patterns that no longer serve us. Whether you struggle with interpersonal conflicts, have issues with self esteem or anxiety, my goal is to create a peaceful space for a nurturing, supportive bond between therapist & client.
My aim is not to change who or what you are, but rather to explore how you respond and relate to your external world to create a perception that better serves you in your daily life.
“It is joy to be hidden but disaster not to be found.”
― D.W. Winnicott
About Me
I am so excited to see the progress you’ll make in therapy. I have been in private practice for years and am currently a Psychoanalytic Candidate at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP), a contemporary relational psychoanalytic institute in New York City.
For over a decade, I worked as an inpatient Clinical Social Worker at hospitals in New York & New Jersey. I have worked with patients & their families addressing multiple specialities, including Palliative & end of life care, surgery, general medicine and Geriatrics. The majority of my hospital career was spent working with patients & families after Orthopedic injury and/or surgery, at both New York Presbyterian and the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS). I worked with professional and amateur athletes as well as everyday people looking to improve their quality of life. I enjoy helping patients begin to cope with a loss of mobility or loss of independence and begin to start a new path forward sometimes simply by acknowledging they needed help. Working alongside healthcare providers from every discipline for over 10 years, I understand the day to day stresses of working in a healthcare setting.
After studying English Literature at Lehigh University, I pursued a career in corporate, beauty, fashion and entertainment Public Relations. My experience in the communications field taught me the value of effective communication and how it impacts the way we see ourselves and the world around us. In both my PR and healthcare careers, I saw the impact a fast-paced work environment can have on an individual’s mental health and relationships outside of work.
